Set Your Screen Resolution!

Wasted Screen Space!
If you are using a 17" or even a 15" monitor with 800x600 resolution... SHAME ON YOU! I've got a bunch of 14" monitors that I'd be glad to trade with you! If you aren't running 1024x768 resolution, in my humble opinion, you're wasting your resources!

What's the difference, you ask? It's like getting a bigger desk... you can get more stuff on it. And we all need more stuff!

Proof is in the Picture!
Look...
Here's my screen at 800x600 pixels:

...and here it is at 1024x768:

See how much more desk space I get at 1024x768? Yes Martha, everything is smaller, but even I can still read it... and I'm in my mid-fifties and wear reading glasses!

OK, GoToGeek, How do I do it?
I'm glad you asked! Here's the drill:
1. Right-click on your desktop
That means you find an empty area on your screen, move the mouse pointer to the empty spot, and press down on the RIGHT-HAND button on the mouse.

2. A little menu should pop up. Move the pointer down to "Properties" and click the LEFT-HAND mouse button!

3. You should see a Display Properties screen... click on the "Settings" tab.

4. Use your mouse pointer to slide the "Screen Area" slider thingy to read 1024x768 or larger.

5. Click on the "Apply" button. You'll be presented with the following message, click the "OK" button:

6. Now you have 15 seconds to decide if you want to keep the settings... if you like it, click on the "Yes" button!

7. Re-adjust your desktop icons and spread out! Congratulations!
